Hello, Omnicat! You may not recognise my name, but I remember yours from my time (2008--2010) in the --then practically-dead-- GW fandom at LJ. Hoi! \(^.^)[_]3

The reason for this comment is that I just found some notes in an old notebook about a "crack 'compatibility mode' character meme" you wrote --, which, so many years after its conception, still gives me the snickers)-- and decided to perform a modest google-stalk to see if you were still around.

As for above entry: indeed, fandom has changed. I agree wholeheartedly on fandom as we know it from back-when and fandom as it is now. The chaos of Tumblr (let alone the fierceness of sentiments in today's social media) is a major turn-off.
Also, there is a GW Discord group, but the behaviour of one person there turned me off enough to dial back my attendance by about 97%.
At the moment I have one (old-school-GW-)fandom friend with whom I write in a RP-like thread via Google Docs; still looking for a new LJ-like home for new fiction and delightfully dumb 'shopped images. Apparently what the kids are talking about now is something named "Pillowfort",which I've heard described as more LJ-like.

Given your entry here dates back 2 years, where are you now?
Have you found another fandom/writing place yet?
...Do you have more old copies of "[blank] character memes"? XD
