I got a troll family in the mail for my birthday! Luckily it was snail mail, so I'm pretty sure they're not the internet type. :)
A place I interned at a little while ago gave me a bunch of movie vouchers, so I went to see a movie to celebrate. It was the The Mortal Instruments. Don't judge me. I was curious. It was an okay movie. Very pretty to look at, though the first half felt kind of rushed, and the Uber Emphasizing Music Of Epicness was a bit much. The music, the way everything was put together... ironically parallel to the way the prose kept emphasizing how pretty everyone was.
Pacific Rim, a while before that, was cooler. I could go on and on about how cool Pacific Rim was, and if memory serves me right I promised someone I would let them know if it was any good... ages ago. Sorry! I've been lazy by reblogging other people's thoughts on tumblr instead. All I really have to say for myself is: I want jaeger pilot AUs for EVERY FANDOM EVER.
That makes two vouchers off the pile in fairly quick succession. But I have so many left, and so few movies I want to watch on the big screen, that the rest are going to get me through the entire MCU Phase Two, and have left over to last until Tron 3. Whenever THAT one's gonna be out. Except these things expire in a couple of years.
Oh well. Guess I'll just have to find some fun to have before they do. XD
I also decided at the last minute to go to my usual "birthday convention". So last minute, in fact, that I forgot to bring a cell phone and thus couldn't check if anyone else I knew was there. If they were, I missed them. :(
What else, what else... Oh! The Dark World. THE DARK WORLD. I AM SO EXITED. Why is it not already November? *claws at the calendar* Loki's new hair is godawful. Even worse than the Avengers 'do. But JANE! In Asgard! Doing SCIENCE! And FRIGGA! I refuse to entertain the possibility that those spoilery speculations are true, even though they are painfully plausible, considering how she got shafted in Thor 1. IT'S NOT HAPPENING. NOPE. NOPE NOPE NOPE. *STICKS FINGERS IN EARS AND SINGS "LALALALA"* Anyway. Did you see that slap, though? That's my girl. That's my ship. :D
Sorry I've been such a hermit lately, guys! I've been pretty consistently "active" on tumblr, but that usually barely counts as pseudo-communication, at best. Thing is, it feels like being super-communicative while taking only a fraction of the effort and mental energy. Sorry, again! I'll try to remember to log onto Skype more often.
(But now I'm going to eat one last slice of cake and cuddle the cat.)
